Veteran's Day

The fifth grader at my children's school put on a Veteran's Day program. Lacey got to be one of the speakers- she did great!

They acted out a story called "The Little White Table" (which was awesome), sang songs, and paid tributes to all the Veterans that attended.

I bawled quite a bit!

It was probably one of the best programs I have ever seen by an elementary school! So proud!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween this year! The weather was great, the costumes all worked out and the candy was/is plentiful!!

Lacey and her friend put together a Halloween party for the neighborhood kids.

There was a fun party just for adults one night.

There was a fun parade at the kids' school.

We went to a fun Pumpkin Patch also.

Now on to the Holiday Rush!!!

The Karate Kid

So we had heard that karate might be a good outlet for our son with a rather high energy level.

We have been going for about 6 weeks now. I was very impressed with the teacher and his patience with the kids.

They also tried very hard to teach them about manners and being good listeners. Unfortunately, they raised their prices by quite a bit, so we won't be going there any more.

I also talked to a few school counselors, therapists, and such that assured me that he is not ready for Karate yet anyway.

But he enjoyed it for the most part. :-)

On to the next big thing I guess.....

Annual Family Photos

Every year our family gets their pictures taken. I have always loved being able to archive the growth and changes of everyone. We have a fabulously talented friend, Mary, who has been taking them for us - love her!! This year we went to Freeman Park in IF. It had beautiful scenery - perfect for the pics - so here you go! Some day I'll figure out how to do them in a slide show..... :-)
